'85 Toyota 4x4 pickup SR5, Xcab. 97,000 miles. $5K
« on: Aug 28, 2008, 02:27:07 PM »
What I got:

The truck is a 1985 Toyota 4x4 pickup. SR5. 97K original miles(I'm pretty sure this is the lowest milage truck you can find).

It's an extended cab with a sunroof.
Little benchseat in the back of cab.

Has crossover steering, box from an IFS.  Frame boxed.
Rear axle from a '90, and a factory Toyota Limited Slip V-6 third(cost me $500), 4:88 running gears. Yes, e-brake does work.
Square tubing driveshaft. Chevy springs in rear, Ford F150 shock mounts in front. Ubolt flip kits front and back with Marlin shock mounts on the rear.
Steel braid brake lines. 15" Aluminum wheels. 35" Swampers in the front and BFMuds in the rear.
Flowmaster exhaust, GT steering wheel, tow hitch.

In addition to the halfdoors, you get a set of full doors with working power windows. Also, you get a functioning tailgate(not pictured).

I don't think you'll find an 85 4x4 with less milage on it than this. The guy I bought it from got it from an old lady that only drove it to the local store and sat it in a garage. He put some work on it, and when I got it I went over it completely and finished it up. Only thing left to do is dual case it.

I'm in the El Dorado forest. We just moved here from Oregon, so it's got the tree plates. Registration good and paid through June of 2010. Title is clean, truck is insured.

Only thing the truck needs is front wheel bearings replaced(no hurry, it's still good to go right now as is).

What I want: We need a '96-'02 4runner, 4wd. THAT is what we NEED asap. Our car was totalled by a drunk driver, and with the baby - we NEED a normal vehicle for daily driving. Since this is a 2-seater, it was great for the wife and I before we had the kid - but now I'm not really going to be able to use it enough.

If you don't have this 4runner but really want the truck, let me know how much $$$ you have, and if it's enough for me to shop around and find a newer runner, I'll consider it.

Willing to throw in a Ninja street bike if the 4runner in question is nice and new and low miles.

Trade is too slow or not happening.

Truck is now up for sale for $5,000 to anyone from Marlin Crawler or Pirate.
Price on craigslist is $5,500 to "strangers".

Perfect clean carfax came back on it.
97,000 original miles -->  no joke.

We already bought our new 4runner, so no more trade needed.
