Stuck Throwout Bearing
« on: Aug 22, 2008, 06:44:04 AM »
Anyone ever have a clutch throwout bearing that wouldn't come off the hub? Everyone I've asked said it just slides off. Mine won't budge. Any good tips/tricks?

you mean, he's trying to get the bearing off the hub, not the hub off the shift fork where those clips are

Exactly, trying to get the bearing off the hub. I've been looking through everything I've got to see if somethings the right size to press it off, but I've got nothing that'll line up. I guess if I have to I'll take to a shop, but I'll see if I can find a socket or something that'll work. Thanks!

Well....I kind of think I scuffed the hub up way too much trying to beat the thing...might just need a new hub. That would take care of that. Oh well. Guess I need to work on my aim, too.
