Try This Vacation
« on: Aug 11, 2008, 11:30:00 AM »
So with the new shop and everything I have had very little free time and there is no way that I could leave for more than a couple days Campfire Girl came up with an idea, "Why not take a vacation in town?" I thought is was kinda dumb but I went along with the thought and she made reservations at a resort here in town. It's not like there isn't an abundance of them in Palm Springs. Now get this the Spa Resort and Casino is about 5 min. from our house and that's where were are staying, checked in yesterday and it is actually working. Even though I still have to come into the shop I felt relaxed yesterday and once I close up here I will be going back on vacation. I didn't even take my laptop, left it at home. The cool thing is that before we moved here we used to go to P.S. to get away so it's really no different than what we've done in the past. What brought this up was when we used to go to Hungry Valley, Dusy, Rubicon or other northern  trails we'd always stop and camp in the Valencia area back when we lived in Riverside and when we moved to Valencia/Santa Clarita we always thought about going there just for kicks even though it was only 15 min. from the house. So anyways I'm on vacation right now and still working.

Interesting idea.

What are you doing at the resort that make it more of a vacation that being at home?  Sounds like you could simply shut the ringer off on your home phone and put the computer in the closet for a few days and save some coin.  Just think, you could hire a housekeeper for a few days.

I'm mostly joking with you, but I'm glad to see that your doing what it takes to get a break!

Well after getting out of here we do the things we'd do on vacation, last night we walked around downtown and did some shopping. (we live downtown) . Then we went out to the pool and natural mineral spa, in this area there are quite a few hot springs and they have one right there.
