Hi BigMike,

Here's some pics:
http://www.frontiernet.net/~toyfvr/80%20Hilux/

This is pretty much the way I bought the truck from the PO.
I've since done a power steering swap, swapped the 33x15.5 SX's on 12" Hellcats for 33" Buckshots on stock 88 SR5 rims, pulled off that stupid pre-runner rollbar, removed the "cool" orange fake antennas, and best of all, swapped in an R151 tranny with a dual Budbuilt X-member. (I just need to go dual cases now)...

I'm hoping to ditch the 20/22R for a 7MGTE once I get my 74 FJ40 running, and once I can figure out a custom bellhousing to mate my R151 to the 7M.

Any idea how much it might cost to have a 1/2" or 3/4" aluminum plate machined to replace the back face of a Supra/R154 bellhousing?

Hey That looks really clean for a Carb'd R engine

How does it do Crawling around? I would imagine those carb's would lose some idle-speed power.

Looks sharp!

Exactly why I want to ditch the motor....  :~~:

I've only tried to "officially" wheel it once, at CMCC02 at Paragon......

Basically only got about an hour of VERY mild trail time due to a charging system issue. Kept getting jump started, but couldnt keep the thing running because it kept stalling anytime I tried to climb over a small rock.

I've got the idle set about 800-850, which is a little high I think, but any lower and it will stall even worse.
On the street, they handle pretty well (& even sound cool  :shake:), but they are running so rich now, I get like 9-10 MPG, running skinny 33's and 4.56's with the R151..... :dunno:

I've heard this is a really good, tuneable setup, but I've had one of the carbs apart to clean it, and there are TONS of different jets and emulsion tubes. Way too much for me to try to learn how to tune and keep them in tune....Plus finding parts & info would require setting up a whole new network of online resources for me....

So I wanna ditch for a 7M.
