Plate Bumper
« on: Jul 02, 2008, 10:13:52 PM »
Getting my runner ready for the roundup this year, and I need to get some bumpers fabbed up!  Since most of the bumpers seem to be tube, lets see some pics of badass plate bumpers!   :flamer:

its not plate, its a rear bumper off of a old toyota flatbed that i found in a barn up in auburn that came off a built rig here in the bay area, its 6x3 rect tubing with a receiver hitch that still need to be put on, i also shaved the two receiver hitch tubes that were offset from center

That is one of mine.  I always have a lot of fun building plate bumpers.   Post up some pictures of what you come up with.

I like that bumper a lot. Very unique and definitely looks sick.

This is mine, I don't know who made it as it came with my truck when I bought it. Its not the heaviest duty bumper though, I would like to go through and beef it up a bit. It is pretty light though and houses a Warn winch snug out of the way. I have smashed some :pokinit: with it though and it has held up well.

I made a rear bumper out of some 1x3" C channel that I found out in back of the welding shop when the instructor told us to clean up.  I used the band saw to bevel the corners and wrap it around a bid and then beveled the underside corner edges.  I also made some sturdy new rear bumper brackets too with some scrap 2x3" box tubing I found laying around.  This was all back in when I was in colleg in '95 and was installed on my old '88 toy.  I wish I had some pics of it.  It turned out pretty sweet.  I used to back over small trees and rip them right out of the ground with it.
