j-arm Ball flip

I have to flip the ball on my j-arm and ive been told that i have to use a press.  can i just use a 5 inch benchvise to press out the ball?

every one i have seen needed like a 20 ton press to get out.
you grind the one side down and then press the ball out.

also when you press it back in make sure you weld it good or it will work its way back out.

I don't think it would cost that much to have a shop press it out.  I had a shop press off my steering arm for $14.  Broke the arm puller so he had to use a drill press of some sort.   :smack:

I have a harbor frieght 12 ton and beter yet I think I have and extra arm  :yupyup:
