81 SR5 LB bobtail
100%81 smog controls ex.DT smog header.
AP LT 5'' spring's & ext. shackles
BB rear ext. shockmount & lower mount's with BS-5150's
529"s & 4.0 trailtamer T/C
i took out the lock rite locker's to put better locker's that work right.(no pun intended)
have yet to put on my AP hy-steer , front hanger ,u-bolt flip,IFS box & mount.
if it hasn't broke all the way off, i have not fixed it. so i'm waiting on some thing to fail?
i know it's too pretty for some, it came with the paint job , diamond plate & lightbar.
i would take off the bodylift but it makes it easy to work on. real easy.
like i said i'm waiting for something's to fail or to fall off. something's sooner than later.
i ride dirtbike's & quad's mostly. when they break or go off the cliff is when my yota come's out to play.
some people might remember the other owner of this rig in the past. i have owned for 7yrs. that is alot in headgasket time.

it  was huge when i bought it. a little less so now. it had a 7'' skyjker lift & 38 swampers.
i have 35's on it now & a 89' 4-runner rear end.
the front driveshaft angle is close to max. but still wheel's ok.2 T/C's would help there$$$next time!
i'm moving the front axle forward real soon . so cutting & removeing some front end metal will be needed.
the 4'' bodylift is the biggest problem i have. maybe i'll cut it in half down to 2'' or just take it off altogether.
sure makes replacing thing's way easier.
a real rollbar is next.
thing's happen slow when you more than one truck. i have  3-ford's & 2 toyota's. 3 are 4x4's.

jimbo74

4" bodylift?!!!!!!

with 7" of springs, i really dont think you need any bodylift for 35s..... many here run 35s on a 4" lift

4'' is way to much i know . it was on it when i bought it.
i will be changing all the old style parts with new an updated parts from MC & AP.
i've puckered myself a few time when thing's feel a little top heavy! two wheelin!

I had a first gen with a 4" body lift, scary but never failed on me, sold it before I could remove it.

ya i heard about those wish i had one for my truck then i wouldnt have to get a front drive shaft made... So whats the deal why is there no front drive line in this thing?

nice truck tho and welcome to marlin

81smogdog

gas saving's ? :hammerhead:

i have a new front hanger to put on, then ifs steering box & mount. some welding.

new stabilizer mount. a little welding .then my new hy-steer stuff too.

new bearing's , new brake rotor(slotted and cross drilled), pads.

just put on a new head gasket. maybe i need a rev-limiter?

trim the front fender's some. need some welding there to fix old crack's in the fender bolt hole area.

so i'm not putting my front drive shaft intil i get the axle moved forward. a reminder i guess.?

i could put on my new fabbed rear bumper. but the old one hasn't fell off yet. i'm working on it.  :smack:

i had one of those bumpers...they aren't hard to rip off when you come off a rock that is big enough

thanks, i figured you guy's would like an old toyota like mine. i bought as a gross polluter. i learned a lesson.!! don't buy  anything that failed smog tests that many time's. where i live you have to have your truck smogged. norcal.bayarea. if i made it just a trail rig i couldn't use it as much as i needed.  riding dirtbikes' as much as i do in nor-cal i get in to some tight places. the yota can get in a whole lot further than my F250 s/cab, L/bed. sometimes i go as far as my old 81 will go and then set up camp. that's a long way away from the other camper's at the area's around the rubicon. high elevation zap's almost all the power the 22r has. thank god for low gears.

Tallchevy

In your 2nd pic, what's up with the shackle angle  :headscratch: why does the d-saide look straight up & the passenger side has some angle? Or am I seeing things  :eye: :eye:

i know it might not look like it's been beat on. i beat on it hard as i can. i don't girl thingy-foot it  at all. it's been hard to adjust to going slow. the speed limit is about 75MPH on flat ground. something's are not straight that is for sure. the picture does have a odd angle to it.there is a small incline on the passenger side toward the stage. my AP springs are flexy but unequal in height some.never seem's too hinder how it work's.

the old 83' is stock. the sun roof window hasn't leaked yet? and it still smell's of new truck inside. it only has 40,000 miles on it. the only problem it has is rust. it lived right next to the bay. salty air can do some damage!

Yoat Goat

That sucks! That would be a good resto if it wasn't all rusty...

the rust is not as bad as most. the bed liner did the worst damage of all. the san fransico bay area doesn't rust to badly. right on the bay is a real easy way to turn your truck red!
