Need help ssembiling my dual cases.
« on: Jun 13, 2008, 06:17:08 PM »
I have an 82 toyota and bought a newer transmission and transfercase. I just went to go build my dual setup and relized I have a foward shift T-case, is thier any thing I can do to make this work or did I screw up. Can I just weld the foward shift case into low gear and put it in the rear. Any help would be great.

Huh??  Well I guess you "can" weld the case into low but I can't say I'd recomend that.. :hahaha:

You need a top shift conversion.  You can either just buy the top shift rail or cut and drill the forward shift rail you have.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Where can someone buy a conversion kit at, or is thier a rite up on converting it your self. That write up only showed if you are using a transmission using a foward shift, is a g50. At least that is how I read it.

you must use a top shifting reduction box for your rear-most case. (Forward shift to Top shift conversion kits available from Marlin Crawler)

foward shift to top shift conversions are no longer carried my Marlin Crawler last I heard. The best bet is to call them.
