Topic: Alternator Regulator Wiring Schematic

Hi, I the charging system on my '84 4Runner quit woring last night.  I am not sure if it is the alternator or the requlator so I need the wiring schematic or instructions to bypass the regulator and full field the alternator to see if it is bad.  Also, with the alternator off of a '90 4Runner with a 3.Slow fit on a 22R?  Thanks for any help.

Don't think the alternator off the 3.0 will work the belt pulleys and mounting is different. also if memory serves me right i think the regulator is build in to the alt on those year models. try the dirty trick with engine running take off  the positive battery end & see if engine dies if it dies then bad alt. maybe able to replace the bushings or send to a alt. shop  to get you going.
