No it doesn't. Its got a Ford 9" with 1550 Knuckles.

its a spyder 9 front end that is by far one of the sickest front ends you can build right now. and ya its running birfs, for toyotas, no, but made from the same guy who sells the best aftermarket toyota shafts on the planet. toyota stuff can only hang for so long anyways. the got propane buggy is pretty nice and he does a lot for the toyota aftermarket.

I think a vehicle is still whatever it was when you towed the pile to your front yard and started sawing stuff off of it.  You showed up to your house and started explaining to your wife that this wrecked POS toyota is the next project.  You didn't say "Oh I'm just bringin the new twenty thousand dollar truggy home baby."

Sweet.

Just spent $20 on a subscription.

I figure if you complain about that on the cover, then the rest of all the mags are truly about halfway "normal" Toyotas.  Awesome.

I can take a buggy here and there, as long as I get to see the everyday Joe and his rig.

Resurecting this thread because I have another rant.  Its my thread anyway.

This months cover has a rock buggy with fiberglass tacoma panels on it.  Its dubbed the "550 horsepower Tacoma" and in the article there is a caption about it that says "Toyota of the year".

While I  agree 100% that it's a completely off the hook rock buggy and I'm envious of its owner/builder I don't think it contains a single part on it made by Toyota.

i agree, some toyota glass doesnt make it anymore a toyota than a full buggy with a jeep grill.
but theres only so many 4runners and pick-ups on leafs and 37's that you can read about. sometimes even if its not technically a yota, its still cool to see and read about. its nice to see some toyota inspired buggys.

Thanx Steve

Yes its a Jeep/Yota/Chevy/Ford/Dodge/What ever you call it. In the end, what do you want your grill to look like is the end ?.
Until someone makes the new Tundra diff in different gear ratio's and locker options and Toyota comes out with a spindle, hub and brake option big enough for 1.5" axle shafts with knuckles, you will continue to see Toyota/Mut vehicles. We at 4WDTO do appreciate your candidness and loyalty to the brand but like stated above there should be and needs to be some verity, otherwise readers will go some place else.

Thank you for your comments.
