What brand of front end parts to use?
« on: Jul 14, 2004, 08:08:59 AM »
I've decided to rebuild the front end (new upper and lower ball joints, control arm bushings, shocks , etc) of my 87 4runner. After market parts are MUCH less money than the Toyota parts. I can afford to pay extra for OEM, but would prefer to save the money. Are the after market parts as good as the OEM ones?
I was going to do a one piece axle swap on my 4runner. However, since I don't weld, I would need to have a shop do it and the price of the conversion was as much as a whole 4runner with a one piece already in it.
After I've finnished the '87 maybe I'll get one of those too.  :circle:

I would go energy suspension for the bushings, but use toyota oem for the ball joints. Shocks, bilstien, rancho, all are pricey. :twocents:

Thanks you guys...That's a very generous offer '84runner. I live in northern CA 84runner. Since I last posted I found a solid axle runner I might buy; It just needs a motor.
