lol in all reality the only true 5.0 is a 305 chevy.  A 302 is in reality a 4.9508.  Granted the difference is minimal but the fact remains.  Besides that what ford calls a 5.0 is a 302 so they are one in the same yotaboy.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

yes and no, they didn't call the mustang 302 a 5.0 until it was injected with roller rockers - but then I could be wrong..

i am so lost i know the 302 and the 5.0 have the same block thats why i sead he should just pony up the extra money for fuel injection and most companys round there numbers 4.9508 just doesnt sound as good as 5.0

Sorry to screw with you guys but I have gotten home pretty much schnokered last night and tonight and I just flet the urge to screw with ya. :hahaha:

Brandon I think tha tyou are correct that ford started calling a 302 a 5.0 at the same time as they added fi and roller drivetrains to their lineup.  I wanna say that was about 86?

Mabe its just my experiance, but why use the AOD or any ford auto, there garbage, If I had to use any ford auto, it'd be a C6, dont get me wrong, I'm a ford guy behind toyota, jus not a fan of there autos. You could probably find and entire 5.0 drivetrain (motor and trans). The T-5 has similar gear ratios to the yota trans, and its matched for the power of the 5.0. Northwest makes an adapter for that as well. Jus throw'n another option out there for yaa. Dont wanna see ya disapointed w/ the AOD, unless you've had good luck w/ ford autos.

Ford autos are a strange breed.  The c-4's and 6's are plenty stout, but they "stack" shifts.  They dont actually change gears like a stick they leave the lower gear engaged while the upper gear is in use.  Very strange if you know the way that others operate.

They say the C-4 is a pile of junk as well as the AOD. As for as the C-6 goes, I think it's the strongest but hard to find with a small block bolt up pattern. It doesn't make any sence to install a V-8 in a Yoter then worry about fuel consumtion :smack:

A c4 is really a damned good trans, if built correctly.  I dont like ford engines but I bow to theire early transmissions.
