SUPER SWAMPER M16
« on: Apr 03, 2008, 06:32:40 AM »
Anybody got em yet? or are these another thornturd?

The new Interco SS-M16 is a tire for all seasons.  Several design features have been taken from our best performing all terrain and mud terrain tires.  The SS-M16 is highway friendly and very quiet for a tire that has such good off road performance. It is an excellent tire that bridges the gap between the all-terrain and very aggressive off road tires and has a rugged design that will enhance the appearance of any vehicle.

I am just waiting on the 40" LTB's.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

I think the bullets are kind of geeky. As far as this being another Thornbird, I'll have to see if the South 6th guys put them on their Cherokees.

I don't know if they're gay...wouldn't they be interested in objects of a similar shape, but with a slightly bulbous tip?  :dunno:

Some resemblance, the voids b/t the tread blocks do look more open though.
the tire does look a little silly.

I think it looks like it would hook up great on slickrock and boulders.  Probably good on sand too.  When the BFG Krawler came out alot of people said it wouldn't work either.  I'd like to see one of these on the rocks before I scoff at it.

I can't speak for DTB...but...he didn't say they looked like a Tbird, he asked if they were going to be another one...a tire that sucks unless it's on a Mex-erokee with Dayton wires.

A buddy of mine has them (thornbirds) on his wife's 4 runner he says they suck.  He talks allot of trash about them.  I knew another guy that ran them on a 1/2 ton Chevy and he hated them as well.  I think the (M16 or whatever they are called) tires kinda look like a military tire.

Plus, they don't even look cool... I see no point in them. I watched this jeep out at the ORV park with them, and they did sucky. Or maybe it was because it was a jeep... :dunno:
