Topic: 03 Taco front shock replacement

My dads 2003 PreRunner needs new front shocks. Anybody done them? Whats involved.. is it just a couple of wrenches and  a coil spring compressor?

ya they come right out 3 14s on the top and i think a 19 on the bottom. compress the spring and pull the shock.

arent they essentially a strut system?

Yes, basically a strut.

they say there is a best way to orient the spring to allow better suspension movenment.  I think its having the bottom of the coil end on the inside, facing the frame.

What kind of shocks are you using?
