Could someone please assist.  Recently, did a new topend on my 1980 4X4 Pickup with a rebuild carp.

I'm don't have fast/cold idle?  Any Ideas/suggestions?
All seems to work fine when the engine reaches proper opperating temperature.

Thanks in advance,
Ernest

Good luck man, who did you get your carb from? I'm ready to go postal on these "rebuilt" carb company's. One idea is even though they might say fully tested and adjusted thats  :bull crap:, you will have to adjust the fast idle and possibly the choke per FSM specs, my other ideas I would be banned for repeating. I could go on and on about my experiences with "re-built" places

I purchased the re-manufactured carb from Oreilly's auto parts.   Actually, I think the carb is working properly it just needs to be adjusted.  Currently, I'm doing old fashion fast idle, i just step on the accelerator, until it reaches temperature.

I need to idle the engine up with fast idle adjustment.  I think in my attempt to idle the vehicle down.  I also turned the fast idle down.

What triggers the fast idle to idle down?  heat or vacuum?
