my power steering dose some strange things now and then, but i think it's the worn out ball joints. on yours I'd put a wrench on all your steering bolts and make sure nothing is sheared. make sure your front axle and springs are tight too. make sure nothings loose or broke and go from there.

Check the adjustments on the arm from your box to the jay arm. The slotted plugs in the end are probably loose. Have someone move the steering wheel left and right and look for where the play is.

If your spring bushings are worn out or missing the springs can move around excessively causing vague steering and also causing the steering wheel to center different each time it is returned to straight.  Check your suspension and also the steering components as previously mentioned...  Also tighten your drag link.

Check and make sure there is nothing bent in the steering, if it is even tweeked a little bit it may flex with steering input causing it to delay action.

in regards to the steering wheel misalignment, any difference in body hight on the left front corner will change the angle of the steering wheel, if the right rear tire goes low it will lift up on the left front pulling on the draglink, turning your steering wheel just a little.

Same thing was happening with my Runner. I adjusted the draglink ends and now the play is gone.

I think the most important thing to remember when lifting a vehicle in regards to the steering is to make sure the steeringbox remains in the neutral position. When you lift you may pull the box out of the neutral position and it will want to steer that direction.
