'86 22RE block.  Punched .020 over.  New everything except the block, main caps, oil pan and valve cover.  EB RV head w/ 261 cam and 2.25" Thorley header.  It's going into my '81 Hilux when I come back from Iraq.  I built it more for reliability than power, but expect 140 HP and 180 ft lbs out of it if the numbers people publish are correct.  That should be enough.  And yes, my wife let me build it in my "hobby room."  Cleaner than the car port, and way cleaner than the auto hobby shop on base.   :king:

half way through my 7m swap i started wishing that mabe ive should have done a v8...not any more!! My 7m turbo is about 300 hp and seems like it doesnt even feel the 36 in tires. :burnout:  good luck with your engine swap, you will love it!!  :driving:

Not sure yet.  I'll probably just knock out a wall and poke the front of the truck in the room and do the swap there.

:D

I'll just have a couple people over and we can carry it out.  Minus accessories and manifolds, it's not too heavy for two or three people.

Yeah, even I can pick up a 22r(e) series engine and carry it around alone, and I am puny, haha.

How does it wheel?  If I remember, 5M's are about 470 lbs, dressed.  To me, that seems like a lot of weight for a relatively narrow wheeling rig...

to run the r151f u need a custom bellhousing made.  we have 2 spare r150s and he also has a compleate 86 turbo truck but i dont think he wants to gut it

Ive never wheeled the 7mgte yet, its been a winter project, but I did wheel when I had a 7mge.  I felt the weight more on high speed 4wheeling,  crawling didn't notice.

R151f+ custom bellhousing.  That motor pulls in 5th gear going up hill at 45 mph.  I wonder how long that w56 will hold

I agree.
i dont think that tranny will hold up to that engine.
and just get a bellhousing from a supra with a R154F and use that bellhousing. :dunno:

got a r154 tranny, but there are no worth a fuk machine shops here in town that can build the bellhousing. we tried to put all the r154 guts into the r150 tranny, but we need a better gear puller. so its the w56 for now

Why are you having a shop machine you a bellhousing when you can just use a MKIII Supra Turbo bellhousing?

the r154 input shaft is longer than the r150 and r151f, so the bellhousing needs to be cut down.
