I am interested if anyone has ever done this or has pictures?  I might not be calling it the right thing but what I'm talking about is cutting the grille in the middle and bringing the front fenders in.  Any suggestions input would be greatly help.

stehlydan

You would cut the grille in the middle and put back together like a bobbed bed.  Then you would cut the hood to match the smaller front grille.  Then turn the fenders in.  I've seen alot of fullsized trucks do it just wondering if anyone has done it yet?  If so got any pictures or words of andvice.

SWAMPER

Oh yeah you just cut the inner....   :bull crap: I dont have a clue to what your talking about sorry for that I will smack myself!  :smack:

SWAMPER

Yeah I agree If its for looks just buy a cowl induction hood...if its for mods...I can think how that would help...

I havent looked in awhile but I know that there a a mass of pics of narrowed front ends on the PBB.  I have some killer pics of one done in the rear but not the front.  Why not save the extra work and just build a big stupid looking nose pick bumper like mine   It wouldnt have the same zowy factor, but it sure is a conversation piece!

Yah CGuava thats what I'm talking about.  I have a pretty good idea of how to do every thing except turning the fenders in to meet the new smaller grille.  What I'm afraid of is the back of the fender stick out past where is was originally due to the front being turned in.  Thanks for the great picture.

BigMike

At the Rubithon, I saw a couple rigs that had a narrow front end, and one that had both a narrow front and rear. It looks strange but he had some great approach and departure angles !

i narrowed the front on my old 83 . you ll have to notch the inside of the fenders where you want the narrowing to start.if you look at the inner fender youll have to start the bend in the fender about 8 inches or so foward of the inside of the fire wall if you dont you will run into problems with the inner fender and the fender not lineing up rightthen youll have to cut the front radiotor suport to fit the fenders .do not take it out and cut the middle out .youll be sorry.cut from the outside in.i would first cut the radiator suport even with the front body mount on them.its alot of work for a little look.

stehlydan

Thanks hairy, got any pics of the completed work

A good pic would be one of the Bronco off Monster garge, I think that it would be real trick. I dont like the big stinger in front to much , sorry WT. But thats because I love my approach. Right now I'm sitting on 36's and my tires sti about 4 inches an the most behind my front bumper.

I dont drive with enough finesse to warrant trying to crawl over something that is taller that my spring hanger so I built it to slide up onto obstacles.  And if you could see it in person youd understand how its built to redirect the truck away from tree's etc.  Yes its hillbilly but if something doesnt perform like I want it to Ill change it or cut it off.
