looks good man!  have you thought about sprayin the frame down in black to blend it in with everything else?  I know its galved or coated to stop rust but a coat of black seems like it would bring it in with everything else..

Thanks! I thought about it but theres not much that can cover it and don`t peel off after a few months... and then it would looking even worser than the gray.

Looking real good Colt. Almost hard to believe that's the same truck. I am starting to miss the old paint job that was on it though.

The bed looks awesome. Is your anti theft plate for the filler neck going to sit on top of the bed? Think it would look better if you could mount it underneath so it's not covering up some of the wood. Plus make it harder for someone to just walk up with a screwdriver and remove the whole plate. Just a thought.

You`re right. But thats also a protection of the wood from the gas dropped aside. Thats a requirement from my inspector to pass vehicle inspection. He says the wood could soak up with gas and will become fire hazard...

If someone want to steal the gas, I don`t really care... But the envious a....les in the neighborhood should be prevented to just drop a pound of sugar to the tank. They are to stupid to turn a wrench, so the plate will work!  :cheese:

DeadlyPeace

That sucks!!! Just hate to see that nice wood work getting covered up like that. Still look awesome though.

Would it be too late to make a door in the bed itself so that the fuel neck is completely under the bed or would that still be a problem with safety inspections? Doing this to a 55 Chevy a buddy and me have been restoring. Also I'd imagine you're using/used some kind of sealer for the wood, right? I'd think that would be enough for stopping gas drops from soaking into the wood. Just some thoughts.
