I can't get on there either - and I have a gold star so I don't think it's based on whether you pay or not. Frustrating! What am I supposed to do with all my free time?  :dunno:

I'm a paying VENDOR there, and can't access it.  I have a few PM's out to people regarding product, and can't see what they may have PMed me back.  I am gonna be pissed if I lose a sale from this.

Sucks that they didn't have foresight to renew their domain ahead of time  :outtahere:

Lesson learned Scott.  Initial contact VIA PM is good, then take it to email.  Don't rely on a Board.

pirate is down more than any other 4x4 forum there is. I know this because I am a professional web wheeler and spend a lot of time on off road forums..

This is why I REFUSE to pay any money to them! :hammerhead:

I still don't have access, not that it is a big deal for me but like someone else mentioned they've got $ on the line here. I know what can happen when a domain expires, there are people out there that buy expired domain names in the hopes that what has occurred here happens. The owner of a domain name either forgets or doesn't get notification and in reality it is nobody's responsibility to notify anyone that their domain name is going to expire. Then this other person registers it as fast as they can almost as soon as it expires to keep the site up and running then they shut it down. The next thing anyone that tries to log on sees is a screen notifying you that if you are the owner of this domain name that you now need to contact them to get it back. Now what do you think they want? Money, they basically extort money out of you for you to get the name back or you are screwed. I would think there were several people waiting for a site the size of Pirate to make this mistake and from the looks of the web page I get when I try, Pirate has been screwed. They do this all the time to companies and sites that are popular, if this is what has happened there could even be a bidding war to get this address, just think of the amount of people that will accidentally visit that address if they don't get it back or have to change their address do to someone out bidding them. If Pirate changes their address I bet lots of people that try to log on to Pirate are going to end up at some porn site.

From the NS page: "*Once a domain name has been renewed, it may take up to 48 hours to be reactivated. "

I had a domain for a friend expire and they took their time getting me hooked back up.

I automatically clear my cache and shut my pc down every night and still don't have a good link. It does take some time to get everything back to normal, I'm sure there are still lots of people that still go to the page I get. It's kinda what happened here when the ip changed servers on us without telling BM.

I get warnings by e-mail and snail mail from Go-daddy.

I agree, and I always give people my email and phone numbers via the PM.  That being said, one sale I was working with said that he would rather work via PM (don't ask me why)... And I STILL don't have PBB up.  He never gave me his email, or I'd have emailed him by now.  I just cleared all my cookies and private data, and restarted, with no luck.

Tip from a thread on PBB about people that can't get on.

open a command prompt (DOS prompt), type

Code: [Select]
ipconfig /flushdns
you might have to reboot your router as well.
