Well most of the pics didn't work on this forum for sometime so I stopped visiting it. But thanks to the new update looks like things are back to normal, so I'm back too lol. I've gotten some work done on the truck.

Got the front axle rebuilt and tossed in the Longfield Goodies.

Then underneath the truck again.

Rolled it out and power washed the piss out of it.

Started on the dirty engine bay.

Stripped most of it and painted the engine bay, gotta make it look good once

I was stupid and cut the motor mounts off, so made a new beefy set.

Cleaned the trany up too

Then I got the new engine inside the truck  :driving:

Cut out a hole for the new harness

Routed the coolant lines

Mounted the Evap box

Another engine bay shot

The drivetrain is pretty close to the factory holes. I'll still be cutting the floor as I've raised everything a good bit.

Heading to Seattle to watch supercross but will hit the truck hard next week. I think I may try to run my exhaust down the passenger side so I might jump my fuel lines over at the cross member just behind the cab and use the remains of the Taco lines I pulled.. Also trying to come up with a decent air intake setup. Once I get all the motor plumbing down I'll hit the wiring.

I've stripped the entire interior so the fun begins! I know pictures and searching has helped me alot. If anyone has any questions or would like some pictures of something in particular please let me know and I'll get them.

I am not  sure if JustDSM's 3RZ conversion is on here or not, I think he is on pirate.  He got rid of a lot of the extraneous stuff and cleaned up the compartment a lot..

Yes, but he never documents anything like he said he was going too. Yet another unfinished thread. I don't want to start something unless I know it'll work. So I think its best I get it running like a top then try removing 1 item at a time. Otherwise I'll be like a chicken with its head cut off in my shop lol

Picked up a new crossmember this week. Here's a few pics of Sky's Updated Dual Case Mount..

I got the old crossmember mounts cut off yesterday along with some old exhaust tabs.. Then I hit everything with some paint.. Why am I painting everything? Cause I can. The old muddy rust look wasn't doing anything for me.

Just tore the cases apart for the 4.7 gears then its on to the fuel lines.

Just read your whole build... awesome, can't wait to see it finished

I'm looking for an aussie gen1 to do a similar build on - hopefully I can find one as tidy as yours.

Got alittle more done today. Gunna try to start working on the truck after work if I can seem to get out without working anymore OT :shaking:

4.7 Gears in

Duals back together and triple shifter getting ready for some shifting love

I took a break yesterday and scored a decent 110 welder off craigslist. Only shitty part is, once I got it home I found even my 110 outlets can't handle the dam thing... Anyone want to buy a welder? Can't wait to finally buy a house :mad3:

Got in the shop tonight and started painting the cross member. Then laid the stock tacoma fuel lines underneath the truck. Looks like I can use a majority of the lines and use some factory studs underneath the truck for mounting. So i tried my hand at flaring the tacoma lines where I cut them.. Not the best, but double clamps for the high pressure line and we should be good to go.

Nearly finished the fuel lines tonight, need to get an adapter for the high pressure hose off the tank.

I'm pretty happy with how the tacoma lines molded with my truck. Its hard to tell by the below picture but they actually sit recessed in the floorboard. I had to drill one hold to support the backside but used a factory stud for the front.

The lines follow the wheel well almost perfectly, just need to bring home a smaller p-clamp for the last line, but the return and high pressure line are the perfect length and I'll need to extend the evap line.

Ran the softlines from the back of the cab, over the center cross member to the tank.

Having to wait for a few lines to be made and not wanting to put my duals in just yet, I decided to start the wiring process.

First thing I did was remove the entire interior and marking a few plugs so I knew what they were and where they need to go. Then I spent an hour removing the hundred layers of tape toyota used on these wires. I pulled both engine harnesses into the truck and started with the plugs I knew where engine related and were needed. I simply traces each wire to its stopping location and snipped it out.

Then I found the wires I needed for the swap. I'll write these down soon and post for the others for comparison.

I jumped back to the Tacoma section and double checked my E5, IK2 and D7 plug. I went ahead and used a label maker to make things a little easier to read.

As mentioned I will be making my own panel to power both my truck and the motor. Below is the first revision of the everything. I believe I'm missing 2 wires from inside the truck but I'm not to worried. I'll also be adding HID's to the truck and will place those relays inside.

Not at the moment, I'll post my wiring findings once I'm done and sure it all works lol. I know alot of others promise that and never do, but i promise I will lol.

I do know toyota should stay away from electrical tape. My truck is 15 pounds lighter now. My biggest advise is just make sure everything is fused and done properly the first time. Fires are not fun.

I got my new vinyl flooring in today along with a red top battery and my synthetic winch line.

Hey man, just found your build!  It's looking good!  Very clean, I like it.   :clap2:  You took almost the same exact approach I did when doing the swap.  I would be cautious about using HID lights.  If you break them while wheeling there is a fairly good chance your rig can catch on fire.  Also, your can shock the crap out of yourself with those lights if they break.  The light keeps firing and you cant tell it is cause they are so bright. They are SUPER bright though.  Just some food for thought.

Been running hid's in all my rigs for about 3 years. If my budget allowed I'd have new LED lights but I can't get over the $500 price tag.

It all about how you mount the ballast. Keeping it mounted correctly, eliminating the cheesy plugs and using proper fuses ensure safety.
