Ya, I'm running a set of Cooper Discoverer STT's, 6 ply all together, pretty aggressive tread blocks with siping, knobby sidewalls, there pretty quiet for the traction you get.
 These tires wear really well.
However I did end up w/ a sharp stick b/t the tread, this caused a slow leak. But I was able to get back to town, and get fixed up.
22RE .30 over, mild cam, K&N, LCE header, 2.25'' pipe, high flow cat, Magnaflow.
 Marlin 1200LB clutch

 no substitute for 4wheel drive.

I have a buddy running the cooper discoverer stt's, I think 31's, and doesnt like them.  They are good on road, but air them down and the sidewall doesnt even move.  They dont squat at all even below 10 psi.  Funny you mentioned something about the stick toyoduh!, because the same thing happened to my buddy.  I do flat repairs all day long, and VERY rarely do I see a stick puncture a tire.  Maybe its just a coincedence, I dont know.  They are great for burning off though!

I've always wondered about those MTZ's, they look like they would do well.

Boggers or go home.
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Check out the specs on the new Pro comp Extreme M/T's  I have a set on my chevy and while they look semi-aggressive they do ride nice and aren't noisy at all.  I only have something less than 1K on them now and they look like they did the day I put them on. I've had them in the sand and they worked great. Drove in the rain with them and they felt quite nice too.  I couldn't tell you about other terrains as I haven't done much more than that. Sorry. Something else to consider.  :beerchug:

This is from their info on the 4WP site. The pic leaves something to be desired but here it is.

Tri-Ply with Triple Tec 3 Construction The heavy-duty Carcass is constructed of two radial polyester body plies and one angled polyester body ply to deliver three plies of protection for superior resistance to impact breaks and bruising. Deep Buttress Lug. The aggressive tread design extends far down the sidewall of the tire to enhance its soft surface traction and also provides additional bite in rock crawling application.

Those are the ones I saw on my friends jeep.  They look more open and aggressive in person, I like em!

:yesnod:    It's amazing how quiet they are too! Granted, I'm in a full size rig with mine so they may possibly ride different on a Toy.  :dunno:  They are still nice though.

Dan, just my opinion, but you may want to look into the BFG MTs a bit more.  I really like mine, have had them for about 3 years, and they've got about 30-40K on them now.  I've still got decent tread, a little less than 50%, but not much.  Sidewalls have held up, they flex pretty well, and their preformance is good on rocks, snow, and sand.  The little mud that I go into, they are great, but I've stayed away from that since my truck decided it was allergic to it, and started sneezing motors.  :smack:  I've never had a problem with them cleaning out.  :dunno:

Didn't you used to run toyos?  They're basically a cooper with the center block angle reversed.

what about the off brands, like kumho, and cooper, i see that they have stepped up to make larger mt tires.

anyone know anything about those??

Dany boy what are you doing?

I have not seen a good Kumho yet, or heard of one. The new Coopers are a good street tire but lack the sidewall for offroad. The Toyo mt's are the best all around tire that I know off, they are good both on and off road also not to bad in mud. The BFG's mt's aren't a bad tire, there sidewalls are pretty good but they cup easier than the other tires out there. And as for the at's they suck in my opinion. The MT/R's are a good tire but if you want the best sidewall you have to get a 10 ply. As for swampers they are great offroad but not the best on road. Even though I still drive on them all the time. The Truxes mt's are the one's I keeps telling you  you should run, they are the best on road/offroad tire the swamper makes.  The pitbulls are a good tire as for as I know, I don't think they are the best on road though.
And as for siping, you should not sipe tires that are going to be on rocks. This will chunck you tread. If you do sipe your tires make sure that it is no more than 7/32's. The best thing to do is groove your tires.
