Chrome SR5 Wheels
« on: Dec 10, 2007, 06:51:21 PM »
Well it looks like my last deal on a set of these fell through, so I am looking for another set. I am in the North Bay/Santa Rosa area, so I would like to find a set pretty close as shipping would be expensive. I am looking for a decent set of 4 stock chrome SR5 wheels for an 85 (solid axle, obviously) pickup. I would like them in good shape, but don't have to be perfect. I have around $50 to spend. Thanks.

If they are chrome I may be interested assuming I could get the black paint off the one. Let me know. Thanks!

Gotcha. Where are you located, and is there anyway you could determine if they are chrome or silver? Thanks.

went and checked, they are chrome sr5 star wheels... they are pretty dirty but i was able to get a part cleaned and looked at with some carb cleaner to verify it was chrome.... i think one of them was partially spraypainted black, but i am sure that it could be removed with mroe carb cleaner and some work

Hi, sorry it took so long to get back to you. Yes, I am still interested in them. Other than the paint overspray is there anything wrong with them? Rust/dents, etc? norcalmavnut(@)hotmail.com

there was a good set on the ground at Chico Self Serve about a week ago, they were proping up an old 2wd hilux pickup. They usually dont give a crap about prop wheels so they would be cheap.

Kind of a long haul for a set of cheap wheels though.

I found a set of SR5 chrome 15x7s for my brother, so that is all good, but now I am looking for a set of the same for my 4Runner. I need them in 15x7 in good shape. Let me know what you have. I would like to find them somewhat close - I am in Sebastopol, CA (near Santa Rosa - North Bay).

The wheels look like this:

Yep, I saw that, but the ones I got were 15x7 - I measured them to double check. I know some people have 15x6 and others have 15x7, so there are apparently some different ones out there. Is it possible the 15x7 were from a Land Cruiser?

where did you measure them? most people improperly measure rim width,... it is from bead seat area to bead seat area, not edge of the rim to edge of the rim

also... i am talking about the stock sr5 rims from a SA truck, in chrome..

Any pics, or details? Rust, scrapes, scratches, etc? Will the black paint come off?

the black paint should come off easily enough, its just spray, the rims are in pretty good condition, you seemed to be interested in them before, they are 15x6, the ones that came OEM SR5 on the solid axle trucks the pic above, they look silver, they aren't they are actually chrome, jsut need to be cleaned up, i wiped part of 1 with a rag, and it was bright and shiny underneath
