He didn't have much impact on my life...he was just an icon of the era. RIP Evel.

I wasn't even alive during the era.  I just thought he was a badass growing up :gap:

I didn't realize that Robert Knievel spelled his stage name "Evel" not "Evil". :gap:

I grew up in the Evel Knievel era, riding my bike around the neighborhood, trying to jump everything in sight. I had the little windup toy that was used and abused too. :_oops:

He may have been a "badass", but I heard on a program today that the real Robert Knievel (like so many other celebrities) was an ":moon:"  for much of his life. :dunno: In fact, recently he tried to make amends by meeting with Rev. Robert Schuller at the Crystal Cathedral in Orange County. Hopefully he resolved whatever issues he had before his passing.

Yes, RIP Evel!     Man, that brings back memories. I remember throwing my motorcycles down the stairs just to watch them flip and crash just like the real thing...   Those were good times!

I had the stunt cycle and the stunt chopper. I remember a friend of mine had a Evel Knievel BMX bike that had a tank and some other cool stuff to make it look like a motorcycle and it was red, white and blue...that was cool!  Back then... :disturbed:

My first lunch pale was an Evel Knievel, I was in kindergarten, 1975. He was a hero to me back then.
