tranny swap

alright so i own an 85 toyota 4runner automatic and i am planning on swapping the transmission and transfer case out for a 85 toyota pickup 5 speed and t-case. im just wonderin if its gonna be as easy and cut and paste as it sounds or what else will i have to buy to make this swap work.

Figuring out all the clutch stuff might be a pain in the :moon: . I have never done it, but I bet someone here has some experience with it.

Having a auto isn't as bad as most think you should look at it if the t-case is divorced you can duel it. I run a single 4.7 and it does great just not alot of people doing it. the tranny you have
is rare and there's alot of people looking for one if it has a divorced t-case.Easier to heve a  :beer:without shifting.

ya well my t-case and tranny is pretty bad i feel it would perform better if i did the swap plus i got a guy that will sell me the tranny and the t-case for 300

it depends on wut tranny ur swapping too. id look for a w56 with a top shift t-case. all u really need to do is go to a junk yard and take everything off of the same style truck or 4-runner that a w56 would be in and get ur pedal assembly and all clutch and hydraulic linkage.

if you need to have your computer clear when you go to get inspected your gonna need the computer from a manual tranny truck as well.

hey for a little bit more you could grab my old runner, tranny was replaced about 2 months ago. i'm in northern utah.
