1. i dunno
2. your 5 speed manual w56b will work just fine. will need a bellhousing adapter though. the gm 4.3 has the same bolt pattern as the small block v8.
3. if you can fit the chevy radiator that would provide you with more cooling capability.
4. your toyota one will be sufficient, but the gm pump is much more powerfull if you ever go with hydro assist or a hydraulic winch.

Advanced Adapters X2, post lots of pics as you build up, I've been debating a 5.7 with auto and a Marlin diff.  :yumyum:
Good luck, DanS

I have the 4.3 and still run a stock radiator.  At first it ran a little hot if I hammered on the motor, but now I am running a giant slimline fan and never goes over 190.  I do use the motor real hard when playing in the mud, just gotta make sure the radiator stays clean.  I would recommend changing over to the auto trans.  I have driven standards off road for almost twenty years and finally switched to auto.  I'm loving it...

I have home made mounts.  They were made by the p/o.  I have had to weld both sides up, wish he'd done the job right the first time.  They are solid mounts, as in that there is no rubber.  You can feel every cylinder fire and the bolts keep rattling out of the engine plates.  The motor is mounted very high in the engine compartment, which is good for clearance underneath, but the hood touches the intake.

The stock motor mounts work but are a little too soft. I had quite a bit of drive train twist. I finally got rid of it when I did the t-case mount that bolts to the back of the t-case. It kept everything from being able to twist.
I was running the yota v6 radiator and it did ok, but there were some times that it would still get hot on me. I agree with the above, if you can get the chevy rad to fit then do it, otherwise get an aluminum one.
I ran the stock yota 5spd and loved it. With the crawler and the torque of the 4.3 it would crawl over anything.
I also ran the chevy ps box. I cut the metal on the high pressure line then put the yot nut on it and flared it to fit the yota box. That worked pretty well but shortly after I also put on hydro assist.
Hope the conversion is going well.

I am going to be putting a 4.3 into my 4 door Tracker and I am going to make motor mounts out of poly Heep YJ bushings and DOM tubing.  It should be very strong and provide some isolation.  Jim
