dana 44 or toy axle

Alright i need help, what do you think on either building a dana 44 or stick with the 85 toy axle i already have and build that?

i would build the 44 since i dont know what you are planning to run for a rear axle. With the d44 you dont have to worry about birfields

To build a good reliable axle it is going to cost about the same with all the upgrades to each axle.

If you want to narrow the D-44 here is a great write up.

Well right know i have the stock 93 rearend in it with 4.88's. but once i save up some money i want to put 5.29's with lockers both front and rear. With a four link in the rear and maybe in the front too and twin t-case.

4.88 is the last matching gear ratios between the D44 and Toyota axles.  Just keep that in mind if you need to gear lower than 4.88.  I personally like my Toyota front axle for ground clearance compared to a D44.  The D44 does turn sharper than the Toyota axle.
