:eyebrow:  I'm finally doing the write-up on my 83 framed, 87 engine and tranny, 90 IFS rear, chevy spring, 94 2wd cab build up...

Here are a couple pictures that I took a few weeks ago...  Just need a bed, or need to build a bed to get it back on the road!!  Woo-hooo!!  Get excited.   :driving:  Well...  As soon as i figure out how to resize these pictures of something...

Oh, and this is the same truck in all the pictures...  It's just been rebuilt...  But I'll get to that!

I origionally got the truck as an 87 cab on an 83 frame from Grand Junction Colorado in March 2006.  I drove it back to Southeast Missouri in only 26 hours straight through with no heater and the bed held on with nothing but a rachet strap and the tail lights held on with duct tape!
No offense to any Kansas wheelers, but what the hell..?!  It was kinda like driving a brick with 35's through a wind tunnel.   :dunno:

Here is a picture after I cleaned it up a little and rigged up some tail lights before driving it back to Missouri...  The rachet strap held the bed on pretty good!

When I got back to Missouri I fabbed some bed mounts and bolted it down.  Then threw out the worn out bench seat and fabbed some brackets to mount bucket seats from a Saturn car.  I stripperd the carped out and washed it down at the car wash and added a steering wheel, white face glow gadges and stuff...  The outside looks pretty much the same except for the rachet strap...

I fabricated a roof / kayak rack to carry my kayaks when I moved to Colorado...  After much deliberation here is how that turned out...

So I didn't get much work done to the truck over last summer because I was too busy 4-wheeling...  I did get some decent pictures though...

I also did the firewall clearance mod to make a little more room for the 35's under compression.  This isn't a very good picture of it, but it's the only one I took for some reason..

And finally flipped the J-arm ball, which is one of the best - easiest - cheapest mod to the stock steering that I have ever done.  It completely fixed my chearance problems!

I also added a weber 32/36 and modified an edelbrock air cleaner to fit it.
That bright orange wire is linking my two batteries...

The next project was the front bumper. The smittybuilt tube bumper just wasn't doing it for me.

I'm not sure what year saturn, 90 something...  Just went to a salvage yard and started looking.  I cut the brackets down to make them sit lower and welded lower mounts on.

I picked those seats up for like $20.  And just cut the brackets down, then welded on some toyota brackets to bolt them down.

This January I got some very bad family news and decided to move back to Missouri.  So the project got put on hold for a while...  Here is a great picture of the stinger bumper driving back across the passes from Western Colorado.

So things were finially comming together with the Yota project..  But then some lady on a cell phone ran me off the road and I rolled it over at around 50 mph...  Yeah, that hurt a little.

Since I had been driving the Yota as a daily driver, I figured it was time to put an engine my regular daily driver.  A 92 toyota 4x4.  So that is what I did.  Here a couple of pics of my 92...

So now that my daily driver is back up and running, my Punisher Yota rebuild can begin!!  Woo-Hoooo!

With the cab being damaged the way it was, there really wasn't a way to put a new windshield in without doing some serious jacking on the passengers side corner...  I tried to find a donor cab the same year, 87, but didn't have much luck.

I had a 94 2wd stiiting over in my parts field with a fairly straight, solid, but very neglected body on it.  It had been sitting for a few years and had about 2 inches of rat poopy inside.   :reg:

This pic was taken after I took the cab off the 2wd frame and raked out as much poo as I could with a piece of 2x4

It looks rough, but it was mostly surface rust.  It will need a new winshield too, because the reason the truck was in my parts field to begin with is because my brother ran it off the road, hit a stump and bent the frame, and then went ahead and busted a perfectly good windshield with his head...   :dunno:

Here is another pic of the inside of the cab.  I also started labeling all the wiring because I am pulling the EFI harness out so I can replace it with the carb harness.

I know, I know...  EFI is the way to go for most people.  But I was really happy with the performance from my weber carb set up engine, and my daily driver is EFI and it was a beoch to get everything right after swapping that rebuilt 22RE in it.  Throttle Position Sensor, Knock sensor, O2 sensor, ect, ect, ect!  If my carbed 22R isn't running, it's either not getting fuel/ the wrong amount of fuel, or not getting spark / the wrong spark timing.   :hammerhead:
