Either is fine. They both meet DOT standards. If I were you I'd get insurance to pay for it. Why give them thousands of dollars a year and get nothing in return from them but a piece of paper with a few numbers printed on it?

some insurance companies offer windshield protection insurance, something like you pay a premium, but get x amounts of windshields per year, etc....

Pick Your Part pulls old glass out of junkers all the time, they are really good at it and I believe they install it too.

I got a windshield for my truck from Pick-N-Pull for $11 and bought a $15 seal and some sealant for $5. Pretty cheap, it's relatively easy to pull out the glass from the junkyard as well as put it in... Just my :twocents:

Just so u guys know, most of these replacement services WILL price match each other...I thought I got a really great deal when I had mine done...

I dont trust myself to put in my own windshield...Ive seen too many leak (that were done by owners), firewalls rusted out, wind noise, etc..

That's what I'm talkin' 'bout. The Pick Your Part in San Pedro has a glass service on the lot.

If you are worried about leakage then slather the hell out of it with window sealant and cut the excess off with a razor. A friend of mine worked for an auto glass place and I've seen plenty done, it's not that hard.  I mean 200 bucks or less than 50?  :acclaim:

I managed to get OEM in mine a year ago for $300 out the door, installed(all new rubber and parts, too).  Optically and tint-wise, the OEM is far better.  But, yeah - not a whole lot(I'm picky and it also has a 3 year warranty).
