OK the meeting I attended tonight was not an DEIS meeting.  The first of those in the sonora area will be held Nov 29th.

The meeting I attended was an SRS (Stanislaus Recreational Stakeholders) meeting discussing the DEIS and NEPA, and USFS personnel were on hand, as well as Amy Granat from CORVA.  With my previous experience with DEIS at Pleasant Hill, this one seems like USFS is trying to work with us a lot more. We have just over 60 days to send comments (they have not filed their Memorandum Of Intent yet), and I have a list of all changes they currently have planned.

On another note, the SRS currently has a seat available for a 4 Wheel Drive representative, and I am going to try to fill it.  I spoke with the Facilitator and she said she would be very interested in my involvement with the group.

If anyone wants to get on the mailing list to receive info on the Stanislaus DEIS, you need to send an email to:

swarren@fs.fed.us

or call the Sonora office and speak to Sue Warren @ 209-532-3671 EXT 321
