hey i just got my truck back from a brake place and he said that my tires are too big and will wear everything down like breaks and suspension yada yada yada...you guys are all rollin on 40s and i just want 37s whats the big deal? what do i need to get done to my front end to not have any problems..mind you this is my daily driver

If you are serious about wheeling this rig, you better start learning about it and how it works.
Crawl under it and identify as many parts as you can.

Unless you are made of money you will have to do modifications and repairs yourself. Didn't you say your dad is a mechanic? OK, just re-read your post. Your Uncle, ask him for some uncle-nephew quality time.

Also, most anybody on this forum would be more than willing to help out a newb.
And you could pick up a copy of 4wheel Drive Toyota Owners Magazine and read some of the technical articles or just familiarize yourself with the typical modifications done to readers rigs.

Oh, and your front end shouldn't give you any problems. If it tracks straight, stops, and doesn't pull and it's not making any noises, it's probably fine.

For daily driving, keep the tires properly inflated, make sure the wheels are balanced.

For weekend wheeling, lock in the hubs and shift into four wheel drive.  :gap:

I started with 33's went to 35's and now running 37's on an '85 front end. A lot of modifications have been made along the way, but many miles, both on the road and on the trail, were logged with the stock front end.

For DD, i would also recommend checking torque on steering arm bolts, wheel spacers and lug nuts at least EVERY oil change...especially if running knobby tires

oh and ya, i second that on not trusting the brake shop
