You are correct, sir!   Which is why I choose to live in a remote rural area of far Northern California....

No smog (in the air, also no vehicle tests unless you buy/sell), no freeways, no traffic lights.  Just two lanes (and some single-track), small towns, rivers, mountains, lakes, and did I mention clean air....

I'd have to agree, and most of the people i know roll their eyes at some of the leftist crap that comes out of sacramento. If you look at those silly democrat/republican maps they always make after an election, you can clearly see that 95% of the state is republican (or leaning "right" in their views) and usually only two places show up red...LA and SF. Unfortunatly, they contain a large percentage of the population base, and thus skew the state politics. It's a bunch of BS if you ask me.

That's why I titled this the way I did...I know lots of people from California. None of them seem to be radical leftists...so, why does this always happen in Cali?

Unfortunatly, our polititans are more interested in "feel good" politics than actually making life better. They are out to try and please everyone, and in the process please no one. They do whatever it takes to get re-elected. Bunch of idiots.

I blame the high concentration of ultra-left Hollywood types...  sadly, their celebrity gives them (and their viewpoints) waaaay too much exposure and influence.

You hit it right on the head! Most of these people have no idea what they are talking about and the biggest decision they have to make is how much they are going to drool today. They see other celebs have a "position" on something and then suddenly they have to have one too. Too bad they don't take the time to learn about whatever it is they are supporting/denouncing before they open their clap-trap mouths and make fools of themselves. What's that old addage...Its better to shut up and let people think your a fool than to open your mouth and confirm it! ( as you can see, I have no love of celebs...just like you abnormal, I don't see many movies)

Absolutley. Maybe a small, controlled blast, that would just wipe out the people (wackos) and not destroy the natural beauty of the state, and limit it to the LA and SF regions. OK, i suppose I could agree to that in priniciple.

Yeah, to a certain extent. The problem is that it also applies to the decent folks who are really trying to do some good. Unfortunatly, you never hear about them. Only the "wacko" politicians get the headlines. I think it's probably the same in every state there is, and I know it's true for the federal govt. Look at this dude who got picked up soliciting sex in a bathroom...He's a real winner! (You can see how much I pay attention to these ding-bats...can't even recall his name).

I also just read an article in the local paper, where Ca legislators have outlawed smoking in any vehicle which contains a person under the age of 18. Hmmmmmm.....think maybe deficit, pollution, water, illegal immigration may be things to put a bit higher on the priority list than that??? Somebody just trying to get his/her name into the state law books.

I don't see why everyone says California is crowded, only 10% of the entire state is developed. At our current growth rate the state should be fully developed by the year 2557. I'm not too worried.

The concentration of people in the developed 10% is enough to be considered crowded.

Same here. Except Im aparently not far enough away from the cities because in the summer all the smog from the Sacramento valley blows up here and then settles in the hills. 


Big cities are crowed though. But for the most part Cali has a lot of wide open spaces with nothing but trees, rivers, lakes and furry little critters. I hate San Fran, waaaaay too crowed there. Sacramento isnt bad but it still gets pretty bad.....I hated LA when I went there. Im just used to living in small towns so when I go to the city I get claustrophobic

I could tell about a rather hefty woman calling in to verify my presence and saying "I don't mind if you don't"...I told her I did mind. I could tell you how out of maybe eight stalls this rather hefty woman choose the stall next to the one I was working in and I could tell how she hiked up her dress, baring what appeared to be a great giant albino grapefruit (so pronounced were the dimples) bisected by a ferret pelt...I was laying on my back holding up a wall mount toilet while trying to attach it to the wall. Escape was difficult but I did escape before any bathroom related evacuations could take place, I am scarred for life...that day, the fog surrounding the "Feminine Mystique" was lifted.

there aren't too many ferrets (IMEXP) Mostly there are muskrats, and lots of them are hairless.  Although i do know of one example of sasquatch fur being used.

Had you stayed there may have been another form of "fog" to deal with.
