which should come first

bobby longs 27 spline
new tires
4.88 gears
wait till next paycheck on the 15th and then buy

Plekto

Shoot, I can't maintain 60mph up some of the hills here in California, and I'm running with nearly stock tires.

KDXSR5

Going up the mountains around my place, I rarely go over 30 mph in 2nd gear. 85, stock 22re, and 30s. For comparison, my dad's 91 f-150 with a half dead 302 and 31s can go 45 up it with the over drive off. For some reason it shifts so much better with OD off, I thought it only affected the top gear, but I guess it affects all? :dunno: Dumb automatics. Anyways, gears are a huge thing where I live, becuase it means the difference between getting someplace in one day, or two. Stupid hills.

Goose

Highway 70 runs up through the foothills and some narly mountains and then towards reno.
Theres quite a number of hills and turns.
Im runnin 33's with stock gears, but a pumped-up v6 and i can usually pull the steepest ones in 4th at 65 or so.
I did the hills and mountains outside of Santa Cruz in 5th gear with parts in the back and i was passing cars no problem.

  :driving::burnout:

still.
Id get your tires first. even if you gotta pull the hills in 1st gear, when you get somewhere and wanna sling some rocks/dirt/mud, your tires are gonna be worth theyre weight in gold.

... but dont haul that gold around cause youll have to climb the hills in 4-lo  :talkingn:

you guys  need  to let  those engines rev,  its not going to hurt them,  take it to 4000rpms  befor shifting on a hill,

shoot  i used to cruise down the interstate in 4th at 4000 rpm  for 3 years   on a 100 mile round trip commute

I let mine go 4000-5000 a lot when driving. Like ^ said, I keep it at about 4000 in 4th when going up hills on the interstate. The best part is that I can still get 20+ mpg.
