Woodpecker/Ajax, AZ
« on: Sep 30, 2007, 09:22:14 PM »
Since my club is coming out next weekend and a little pursuation by bmxicanrivera I took a scouting trip out to Florence junction and checked out the area. We did a portion of Woodpecker and played around in the Ajax area Woodpecker is as I remember it from a trip there many years ago, in fact the rock I high-centered on was still there taunting me, I drove around it this time. It is a very cool area and may just become a regular for me. Here's some pictures of the run.

We hit the first section of Woodpecker, I was really surprised at how well my truck was doing since it is an IFS but for the most part I had no problems climbing anything. I did have an issue with a very big rock, it didn't stop me but it sure gave my rocker panel a good whack.

Hey don't knock it if it works, just ask those that were there, put that little truck in places an open truck with 2 straight axles would have (did) had trouble getting through let alone one that is an IFS. :gap:

That thing really IS an OPTICAL ILLUSION! It outperformed my truck. Solid axles and 35's didn't help at all. It was a fun day, and here is a few more pics.

I won't deny that, I am still a "Noob" in comparison to RS, and still need more time behind the wheel. Oh well, we will have to see how it does next weekend when I drop in my new Lincoln locker.

Just got back, we had a blast. Tice's rig is awsome, Scott's too, we had a pretty good size group. We're going out to dinner now and I'll start a thread on the run later. I got some great pictures and will post them up too.

Here's a teaser picture for your viewing pleasure, there is lots more.......
