weber primary idle jet size question.
« on: Sep 26, 2007, 11:15:37 AM »
what size primary idle jet should be in a weber 32/36 on a 22r??? I'm running a broken solenoid valve in the idle circuit now. and it idles OK. but when i install a .45 idle jet from another carb in it won't idle at all. also where could i get some lead plugs to fill the carb passages in case i need to remove them for cleaning?

i did some checking around and it looks like i should be running a 60 idle jet. any input on what works on the 22r would be helpful.

thanks. well do. it's running OK with the broken jet for now.. and i might try drilling out the 45 idle jet until i get some new ones. I've got some jets on order from LC engineering but it's been taking 4ever to get here.

good info from Bud. recommended jet kit 701 dgv 4 and don't remove lead plugs... ( to late! ) anyway already fixed with old mercury outboard carb kit brass plug. checked out solenoid valve... discovered i could remove .50 jet and install it in old jet holder.. still wouldn't idle.. reason was  running before with the solenoid, was that it not seating the jet completely.  more flow and it would idle. then i unscrewed jet holder 1/2 turn and it would idle. removed jet drilled out .72 adjusted carb idles fine.. runs good.  still going to order jet kit but it's running good now.
