you need the computer from a 22r, if you want to do it right

the intake will bolt up fine

is it a 22r from an 85+ or from al older 22r?

as a suggestion i would keep the fi if it has it now unless there is some reason your fi is broken beyond repair... most with carbs want fuel injection
i have had good luck with my carb, and it has only once ever given me an issue on a steep hill that i was sideways on and shouldnt have been there in the first place

I just swapped a non EFI wiring harness into a 94 PU.  I run a Weber carb setup.  I have a 92 PU which is sort of my daily driver (kinda leaning toward a pre-runner project) too with a 22RE and it seems like something is going wrong with it every week, and it is alot more complicated to mess with.  With my other truck, the weber carb setup works good.  It starts when I turn the key and runs strong.  Haven't had any problems with it so far.  It's alot simpler to mess with.  Depending on what year cab you have, and what year carbed wiring harness, some of the plugs are different.  Like the temp controls, ect.  But it dosen't take long to swap the wiring harness.  and the important stuff, like ignition plugs, plug right in...  I think it all depends on how the truck is going to be used.  I don't do much extreme angle stuff, so for my application the weber setup works great.

ha thats the funnyest thing ive heard in along time u said 3.0 and power in the same sentence, there aint no power in 3slows, sorry too get off subject just thought it was funny. ive got a 3.0 runner and i hate it 3.4 is soooo much better,
Id deff stay with your injection they may be a lil sluggish on bottom end but being able too run at any angle is way worth it, i need too swap myne over just been too lazy.
good luck on your decision.

I'd like to add that having had a few cars with carbs, there's a major problem with them:

There are three different variables to optimize for:
1:Lean/Rich (economy and elevation)
2:Hot/Cold weather (air density)
3:Optimized for low or high rpms.

As you can imagine, most of the time you aren't running where it was tuned for.  Cold or rainy day? Bzzzt.  Blazing hot desert?  Nope.  Up in the mountains? Want good fuel economy?  bzzt - can't without nerfing performance...

As a result, they run worse than FI 60% of the time and way better than FI 20% of the time(when everything is like when it was set up).  The other 20% it runs like it's got something wrong with it - plain awful.  I got tired of the constant tweaking and now will only buy a FI car.

good info Plekto...
Performance and fuel economy aside, Toyota truck carbs are strange buggers...
Ive seen some of them have problems pulling a small hill without sputtering,
and yet others laying on their sides, 4 tire fire, bangin around in a ditch...
I swear they got a mind of their own sometimes...
