The we added the dual cases, the bedcage, and lots of dents

More coming, hold on

Then one of my neighbors decided they didnt like the truck sitting in the driveway.  They left a note on the front door of my house saying "please move the truck, its an eyesore."  Well that pissed me off quick so i decided i would give them an eyesore.  Painted it right on the side and parked it in the front yard all weekend long.  Never heard another word out of them, and still to this day dont know who wrote the note.

The name sorta stuck, and from that day foward the truck has been named the Eyesore.

While installing the dual cases, my buddy Shawn (metalmangler) had to do his "statue of Marlin" pose

Then i added some 33x12.50 boggers out back

Took the front fenders off to narrow her down a little

More to come

Then it was time for a little diet for the 'sore....Removed the entire dash, heater core, a/c, everything

Filled and entire 50 gallon trash can with useless crap from the interior.  Also found the best (most fun) way to remove the crap from under the headliner....FIRE

Extended the wiring to the dash cluster and mounted it in the middle

Cut up an old steering wheel and made a little switch panel

Put down a nice rubber mat to cover my cancer problem

By this time, the body was starting to show the signs of rough wheeling.  Really started fitting the name given to it

Slapped on some new paint, and it looked a little "better" i guess

Last wheeling trip with push pull steering and stock springs

Bye bye crappy steering and stock springs, hello Kongs crossover, and factory rears with budbuilt shackles

Flexed pretty good after that.  Still stock springs in the back, but man they sure do stuff good

Suffered some pretty nice bed damage at Tellico.

I was getting sick of the rear end of my truck stopping me from going places.  IT was getting hung up on every trip.  So off it comes....21"s to be exact

The wife approves

Then from this

to this, 36x12.50x15 tsls

Then i had to make them fit.  It looks a little funny with the rear of the fenderwells cut out, but it was the only way to give my tires the room they need to work.

Notice how the truck now sits level with about 150lbs of bed and bumper off its back.  Still factory rears in the back with a 1.5" lift shackle

Driver of the "Eyesore"

CumminsDZL

Added some bling bling LEDs with some dualie lights in the middle for a little flava

You can see how we shortened the bumper to make it work with the bob job.  We notched out the frame above the shackle mount so the bumper would sit flush with the end of the frame

Putting those stock birfs to the test

Playing on big piles of rocks

Some pics of our last trip out

Had a little issue here

And how she sits right now.  Painted the cage green on a whim.  Doing a few things to get her cleaned up for the fall.  I'll add some freshened up pics in the next few days

I would never had gotten this truck to where it is today without my friends.  Many of them are on here, and the rest hang out at NCTTORA.com.

Thanks guys.  I love the way the truck used to look back in the day too.  Its funny that when i first started wheeling the truck i wished it would get more body damage so it would look like a real wheeler.....haha, i guess i accomplished my goal.

Obviously, your neighbors dont get the Beauty of that "Eyesore"    Dont worry none of my family and friends get it with mine either.

CumminsDZL

've been busy this past week. I havent posted up any pictures because most of the work hasnt been very picture worthy, so i'll just posted pictures of the finished product.

Degreased and powerwashed the engine. All oil and grease is now gone.

Painted the entire undercarriage, the bumpers, and the wheels with some fresh gloss black.

Painted the entire body with fresh flat black

Painted the cage "eyesore green"

Bought new headlights since my old ones got trashed at Whipporwill.

Took the grille off, cut two sections off of each side of it so its now only about a foot wide. Moved the headlights in next to the new narrow grille so they wont get hit anymore. They now sit in narrower than the bumper. I also took the factory "Toyota" emblem and moved it to the middle of the new small grille. I have it zip tied in place for right now, just didnt have any screws like i needed to mount it right.

Took starter off and had it rebuilt. Buddy of mine that owns a starter shop did it for free.

Changed the engine oil and filter

New spark plugs and plug wires

Relocated the wiring harness that used to go across the dash to under the hood against the fire wall. The cab is much cleaner and simpler now. No wires running all over the place.

Removed the factory gauge cluster i had mounted under the dash. The speedo stopped working and i always wanted to know an actual temperature for the engine, not just a needle between "C" and "H"

Removed the healight switch, and windshield wiper switch off the column.

Removed all three of my rock lights, and the dually lights off the back. I dont hardly ever use them and they are just not needed.

Wired my CB to come on with my ignition, no more leaving it on and draining the battery.

Cut the factory wiring harness to peices. I cut off every wire that was not needed in the cab and under the hood. I was sick of wires going everywhere and looking like crap. I filled up three trash bags of factory wiring and wiring i had added in the past.

Installed a new switch for the headlights, and one switch for the charging system.

Installed a new mechanical water temperature gauge.

Im sure there are other things but thats about all i can think of right now.
Driver of the "Eyesore"

CumminsDZL

]New gauges and swtiches.  the wiring you see is all the wiring that is in the cab.  Its hard to make it look but so clean when you dont really have a dash to hide wiring behind.

New grille and lights.  Its a little ugly, but at least i wont kill a light everytime i go out now

New paint job.  I stopped the green where the cage meets the bed in the back.  Figured that would make touching the paint up a little easier.

Driver of the "Eyesore"

wow! it looks....brand....new....

That shot from the rear is screaming "dovetail" to me...Ever consider it?

That shot from the rear is screaming "dovetail" to me...Ever consider it?

Everytime i look at it.  A few weeks ago i was gonna pull the bed off and re do the cage and build a tube bed, but decided against it.  I will do something with the rear eventually, but for now i am spending my money and time on things that make the truck "go" better.  The width of the bed never stops me from going somewhere, its so short it rairly ever gets hung up.

But yes to answer your question, i would love it if the main bars coming off the hoop tied into the bumper about as wide as the frame, i would love to dovetail it in that far.
Driver of the "Eyesore"

UNBREAKABLE

Yep, I built this bed cage too....and eventually Kyle will let me hack into dovetailing it too
That's how I roll
