Does anybody ever take any kind of boat on the rubicon?

Or any other trail for that matter?  No, not you 21 foot liesurecraft  :slap:  Does anybody ever chuck their canoe, kayak or dingy on top of their rig and get out on any of the lakes?  Seems like most trails have some nice lakes.  Just seems like a way to make a great trip even better, especially if you like to fish :yesnod:

I personally have never done it but I've seen others wheelin with a canoe or kayak.  I also think that it is a great idea.

I've seen it done, but now that everything's getting closed or has been closed, I wouldn't .... :dunno:

Last year on the slabs, we saw a flat fender coming out with a canoe.  I've got a pic of it on my other computer. I'll put it up later

That's what I'm talkin about!  Honestly, you'd be more likely to find me runnin the trails looking for fish than just purely for wheelin, and probably never see me at the round up!

I've always taken my blow-up raft, it's a blast going out on the lakes. I don't think there is an issue with going on them it's just camping around them that is the issue.

I got a decent inflatable raft.  Not the walmart crap, I bought it from a professional diver.
Got a home-made tubing frame to mount onto the back of it.
Got a Minkota motor to mount onto that.
Got a huge heavy marine battery to power it.

I take it with me, but only one trips where I have extra room for it and I know we'll be posted at a lake for at least a day.

As some of you already know I've been going on hiking trips every 2 or 3 weeks this year, that was until I got sick about a month ago.  Anyway, lots of the lakes in the alps have limited shore access and I've been throwing around the idea getting an inflatable kayak that I could pack in and gain full access to the lakes.

I was checking out a kayak on craigslist today and started doing some research, just happened to come across what looks to be a very nice inflatable kayak for less than the solid one I was looking at.  Emailed the company to get some specs and might pick one up if it'll fit in my pack

http://www.seaeagle.com/SeaEagle330.aspx  There are 2 different packages, one for $300 and one for $350, but you can buy an inspected, warranted used one for $70 less!
