AGs urge crackdown on energy drinks with alcohol, caffeine

http://www.kvoa.com/global/story.asp?s=6962669

How in the world can a drink with alcohol be an "energy" drink? I have never known a peppy drunk. Anybody here ever have one of the drinks listed?

I haven't had any alcohol for 20 years or so...but, I never recall feeling like jumping up and running a marathon after finishing a bottle of mezcal.

From what I hear-tell, people don't drink it for the taste.  :puke4:  I'm not about to test that theory.

I've had sparks. eh, its ok, definitely not the greatest.

However, for several years a popular drink has been redbull and vodka.  Gives you a nice buzz (depending on how much you drink obviously)  and keeps you awake.  Therefore, its great for clubs and stuff where people are up and moving all night.  These new alcohol energy drinks are just a way of skipping the mixing part in my mind.

One bad thing about not drinking is...I can't go to clubs anymore, do you have any idea how unattractive a drunk woman is to a sober guy?

:yesnod:

One of my favorite things to do at clubs (not that I go very often, me dancing is the equivalent of frankenstein pissing on an electric fence)  is to people watch.  I don't drink much when I go out, so I wind up just laughing at everyone else

I was at this club here in town, our band was playing...I was sitting on the front of the stage playing Lenny, and this soused cow came up and started talking to me, she got po'd because I was trying to ignore her.

ive drank sparks its not that bad but some chick bought it and I couldn't refuse because it'd be rude.  the point is that you no longer have to be the tired slow drunk like your talking about but you can stay up and have fun.  I cant say if thats a good thing or not but I know for sure its not healthy

I haven't had soda or energy drinks in a year, but when I did drink them I never noticed any increased "energy".  Only time I ever felt anything from them was if I was having...........errrr.............ummmmmm............stomach problems at work.  If I drank about 3 I'd atleast start to feel better, not so drained.

I do notice when I drink mudslides... kahlua (coffee liquor), irish creme, vodka and milk, that I am way more awake then I would be with a non caffeinated drink, so I am sure there is something there, but I like something that tastes GOOD.
Like mudslides.. :yumyum:

I suppose...if you keep low expectations, you don't get disappointed as often.

I'd rather have one prime rib meal than 4 tv dinners.
