This story has been exposed as a fraud. ninemsn discovered on Friday that Japanese police had never heard of the alleged scam, and that key elements in The Sun's original story had been misreported. Read more about the poodle scam hoax story.

I read that part, and clicked on one of the links And all it did was go off in another version of the story..

It didn't go to another version of the story, if you read it, it was a story about how the original news story was not true.
And that is when I went to snopes to double check it.

Yes, that's why I said I'm just trying to play along(with the hoax bit).
And then to make sure I don't offend any japanese folks, I wanted to be sure and throw out some love. 

I'm polish and I take the jokes.  I think this silly hoax has it's place in humor, it's up to everyone's style.
