Second Gen 4runner Chopped Top
« on: Jul 31, 2007, 07:39:25 PM »
A few people have told me to put my truck on here so here it goes
Here is the most recent before Pic on Jackhammer

With the windows out

After I did a quick chop with a sawzall with the original line I was going to cut the doors at

Finally Troy talked me into doing half doors had to custom make the rear door hinge to work

Everything capped off

Rattlecanned Rustoleum Gloss Orange (1st coat)

Two All-pro main cage hoops

The rear of the cage

The Full cage painted and back in

The rear exo cage done

The front light guards

I didn't have time to finish the front exo before the night run in Johnson Valley but here is a pic of when I first got there

Some of you may have seen this pic already exo held up

here is another pic of that night

I did most of the work my self My friend Scott helped with the interior and designing the Exo cage.

Is there much flex in the body since the top was chopped off.  Looks good BTW.

well the windshield moved a lot so the is now welded to the cage. I will also weld what is left of the b-pillar will be welded to the cage but other than that the body is pretty secure not much flex.

When I first got the 4runner I never thought I would chop it but now I have a tow rig and I suddenly changed my mind I wanted something very different

this thing is sweet. i cant believe you chopped a perfectly good top. you should give your old top to some one to make a bootleg runner out of a p/u.
got another 85 runner. build coming soon!!

I actually had my tires down to 7 PSI there was one time I almost lost a bead I heard a little bit of air escape for a split second but if I ever get beadlocks they will be Staun internal beadlocks I have researched them I like them better but I think duals will be better first
