Rear Shock Mounting Brackets
« on: Jul 25, 2007, 01:58:52 PM »
Where can I find shock mounting brackets/bolt posts/whatever for the rear of my 90 toyota truck so that I can mount the shocks off of the axle at right angles to the frame pointing towards the center of the vehicle?

Thanks

some people talk crap about this idea, but i have never heard of anyone breaking this or having any problems with it

www.sky-manufacturing.com
also has a nicer setup, its a dedicated assembly for $60 but will require welding

Its not so much that its a bad idea as its changes the dynamics of the shock.

If ya graph a Dx/Dy on the suspension travel versus the shock length.... you'll see an effect.

For a trail rig - it probably doesnt matter
For a mostly on road rig - I wouldnt do it to MY truck
yeah yeah - still IFS...
