Topic: truck wont start on fuel

81 22r, stock carb
just wont start on fuel when cold,but it will fire right up on starting fluid.there is fuel in the bowl,but it wont fire.when its warm or has been fired up recently it will fire again no prob.
whats the deal.

almost sounds liek its flooding or the timing is too far advanced or retarded

Is it fresh gas, if its old that could be your problem. If not check and make sure your choke is working. Starting fluid is much more volitile than gas.

some fresh some old,ya know project truck.sat for a year,now its like this.
im just gonna rebuild it.
