WILD SKY
Misleading headline twisted the facts
What an interesting twist of the facts you came up with for your article, "State's mayors support Wild Sky Wilderness" (April 1). I have a better headline for your article: "Less than 20 percent of our state's mayors support the Wild Sky Wilderness."
If 65 mayors in Washington signed a letter of support, and according to yahoo.com, we have over 350 mayors, that tells me that the headline is not only misleading, but in fact inaccurate.
But please don't worry about telling the truth on my account, it has been pretty obvious to many that The Herald is really not looking to publish the truth regarding Wild Sky, but instead wishes to be a free sounding board for Sen. Patty Murray, Rep. Rick Larsen and the Wild Washington Campaign.
I won't bother getting into all of the details of how the forest service does not support this proposal because of some 36,000 acres within this so-called wilderness that does not meet the criteria for wilderness designation. Again, that would be too many facts to provide to your readers.
