Junk ECU and Harness connectors
« on: Jun 02, 2007, 09:23:20 PM »
Im looking for a ECU and harness connectors that will plug into an 89 ECU (Not sure if they are different on the earlier years or not.  I am hoping to make plug in extensions for my ECU to mount it higher up in the truck.

Thanks!

i dont have EFI but do have bits and pieces of an entire harness..... from my 2wd.... i'm letting 8snaces rip into it if he needs it... but.... you are welcomed to anything else after he is done for cheap ;)

on that note, i have seen several people mount the computer in the glovebox using hte stock wiring..... i think if youve got water that high up, you are probably in trouble elsewhere already....

Im actually looking to do that same thing as he did (using his idea) but after my EFI swap this past weekend I dont have enough length on one of the connectors to get it up in the glove box.  All I need are the yellow plugs that go into the ECU and was going to take apart a junk ECU to make the other end of the extension.  Let me know if you have the plugs (which you probably dont being its a Carb'd harness)

Thanks!

You dont need to extend your harness... Just cut the back of ur glove box out just enough to fit the connectors through and run the harness up and along untill they reach and click into the ECU.. thats what I did on my truck..
