I've been waiting for this for a while. One quick question, why does it say that 4.00 and 4.97 gears are not recommended but it doesn't mention the 4.7 gears?? I'd be scared to run any reduction gears in front of a chain drive case. If I can't use the 4.7 gears I have I'll just ditch the chain drive case and pick up another gear drive case.

You'll notice that same statement on all the pages. There's an explanation of the 4.97's, but I never saw one for the 4.00's.

it may have soemthing to do with the 4.7s being the marlin crawler signature total spline design and the 4 and 4.97 are AA and not total spline

hahahahahahahaha thanks man :beerchug: Well I just figured that the 3.0 would develop more torque if it was a 5 cylinder 3.0 :rofl2:

has anyone ever taken the drive flange off for the front driveline of the chain driven case  ??? If I remember the output shaft is way smaller than what is found on the rear output, . I found this out cause I was going to use the matching bolt pattern drive flange  with same output shaft size, so I wouldn't have to redrill the flange that is on my 3.0 chain case. now my point is, putting all that torque on that smaller output shaft sound like carnage  :ack:

I think they are the same I had to put a rear output flange on the front of my t-case when I got a new drives haft but maybe the autos are different I haven't had any problems with mine

:dunno:  I've never pulled the flanges off, but I've been running the MC10, and driven it pretty hard, with no problems

No - on many accounts, the biggest being if you have an 87 4Cyl, you don't have a chain drive tcase.

unless it's a auto, and then it's still different.  Or if it had a g58 swapped in from a newer truck, which still won't work.

MC-14210, 30-4GT V6 Adapter Plate, $349 am confused  ??? if i use a R151F bellhousing bolt that to a R150F (engine 22RE) then use the 30-4GT adapter plate to bolt a second t-case in front of the chain driven one? or chain drive one first then the adapter plate then the gear driven t-case? am lost.
Or do you have to use this kit to use the chain driven one and the gear driven one for duals- MC-14553, MC10-R10-K 3.0 V6 Chain Drive Dual Case KIT, 2.28:1, $649
any one know?

If you run an r151 bellhousing on an r150 transmission, this is how it would go:

tranny-->v6 adapter plate-->gear drive crawlbox-->MC10-->chain drive t-case

That kit has everything you'd need, except for the donor case for the crawl box, and the v6 adapter plate.

The chain drive t-case cannot be used as a crawl box, it can only be used as the last t-case.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me as well, I have this setup in my truck from transmission back.

Nope, they are the same size. Both are 30-spline, same shaft diameter, and can even be swapped f/r output flanges directly.

BLACKDOG is correct...

ToxicToy, in your specific case,

22R-E > R151F bellhousing > R150F V6 transmission > 30-4GT :turtle: adapter > :turtle: MC10-R10 Crawl Box (RF1A gear drive housing attached to MC10-R10 adapter) > VF1A Chain Drive Transfer case.

This illustration should suffice:
