Any Toyota diesel info.

 :biggthumpup:I am new to the toyota seen and am wondering if i can get any info on the 1986 toyota 4x4 with 2 lt diesel and drivetrain info.
WHITE_TRASH already gave me some good info on my trans.Which is greatly apreciated as my thrid and fourth gears are just about gone.Time for a rebuild.

Wow, I've never even heard of a L engine. Here's some info on it..

HP: 86 @ 4000
Tq: 139 @ 2200
Displacement: 2446cc
Bore x stroke: 92 x 92mm
Compression ratio: 20:1

there is some good diesel info here also..Don't know much about that motor,,but here is some good swap info..

85' was the last year for the diesel 4x4 pickup in north america. i have never seen a 86' 2lt.......

Was Dean's (your employee) 2L-T Hilux that I saw at the shop today originally an IFS??

If so then its post 85...

All books still list the 2l-t and my engine says its an 2l-t.And i also do have an ifs front end.And parts are available from most parts dealers.This site www.clean4x4.com  is using a mid 90 2l-t as a test motor for bio diesel.Did some reserch on my vin and did find out i have a w56 trans and 4:10 gears.Which will be upgrade to 4:88 soon.

Deans truck is a 85' 2wd x-cab, 2LT diesel that had a W56 trans. He converted it to 4x4 and installed a 99 4.3 V6 with a R150F V6 trans with a 5.15 first gear :driving:

I Thought the guy from clean4x4 said on the trails he runs a mix of bio diesel and diesel..Its a sweet set up he has in that runner...
