I think i will just leave the axle in stock location and beat the firewall a little more than I was going to. I still like the idea of flipped j-arm and adjustable draglink.

What is that piece you have there in those pics? It that the part available from MC?
I am doing a RUF swap in my 84Runner, and don't want to have to go broke with high steer

are you talking about the (torque rod) i think he made his own that is S-bent to match the lift.
but dont quote me on that, it could be an aftermarket one.

you can not run RUF with stock steering, unless you want to move the box forward or custom make a drag link, and it would be so short that it would bind very quickly...eliminating the flex gained by RUF.

Duffil: I do not think I need a dropped drag link (the one you showed me from 4WP) with my mild lift I am putting on my truck. Can I just heat up the stock drag link and turn it until I can get it to the correct position? Or is this a big no-no due to messing up the metal by heating it up so much? Thanks for any help, I am just not sure if a dropped drag link will work well in my application.

you'll have to cut bend and weld. and make sure to sleeve it with tube, and then plug weld the tube on.

My Duffil-built j-arm with adj. 4 inch drop drag link. I really only needed maybe 2 inch drop if that, but this will work fine. And no, they are not the best pics in the world.

Custom built front pack using stock 85 main leaf and 2nd leaf, 3 cut down springs from a rear 90 pack. Netted aprox. 2 inch lift, plus 2 inch longer shackles equals a 3 inch lift. See my build thread (in sig) for more info/pictures.

"you can not run RUF with stock steering, unless you want to move the box forward or custom make a drag link, and it would be so short that it would bind very quickly...eliminating the flex gained by RUF'' (DUFFIL)..... i agree with duffil that if you ran ruf then you will have to mod your drag link, and thats what i did. i don't agree with it eliminating your flex. i mod my drag link, and could pull drivers side or passnegers side tire on a 36'' tire no problems. not sure if duffil has ever done this or he is just thinking that it will happen, but it doesn't effect flex. i like the idea of the ball filp, and i could do all that with the ball on the underneath side. good idea on the ball filp might look into
