Shock Hoops
« on: Mar 28, 2004, 11:34:04 AM »
I am planning on running the Rancho 9012 shocks and I want to make the hoops myself and I was wondering if anyone had the dimensions for shock hoops for these shocks or similiar. I believe the are about 32" extended and about 18" collapsed with bushing style mounts. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks YD88   :flamer: :_order:

I got my hoops from Shaeffers for $45,(that was before Marlin started making them) I think they are 13" from top of hoop to bottom. 9012's are 32.91 extended and 18.94 compressed. 13.97" travel

I Know about about the Ford tower also a Ford fan at heart, DD 94' F-150 lifted W/ 33's very clear my weeked cruiser is a very clean 65' GT mustang coupe, back to my point don't you have to use post style shocks because I believe the 9012's are bushing style mount. Does Schaffers or what ever it was cant look now have a web site or a phone #.  And yea I am just up the road from Galt, will have to go wheeling when I get done.

Thanks for the suggestions YD88

my Ford towers cost $14 a peice. And they are used with the bushing style shocks.  In some toys if you use the whole tower you will have to cut through the inner fender.  Hopefully this pisture will help.  best one i have.

FYI, I got my ford shock mounts for $26 shipped from fordautoparts.com or something like that. But whatever, they were shipped from atascadero ford.
