patching in rust is a crappy job!   You were saying how you lowered the roof a half inch on your blue truck, I keep looking at my 4runner and I would love to chop the top and lower it almost two inches! I am about 5'8" so I think I could do two inches and be fine.  I think it would look way sick to chop the top on a crawler and have it lookin all gangster.  I wish I had the skills to do a project like that because I would.

So what is your DD that you need to work on? Is the blue truck your daily?

Thats badass that you are getting enough business to move into a bigger shop!  I would love to work in a shop like yours every day.  I think I mentioned a while back that I used to work at Independent Cycle/Legend Air Ride. I used to tig oil tanks, fuel tanks, swingarms, and frame pieces for custom bikes.  It was a fun job and I loved the tig welding, it just ended up not paying what I needed so I quit.

I just shortened the roof skin, all above the dip rail. So not glass mods.

My DD is a 91 extended cab Toyota. Kinda beat but getting better as I fix stuff.

Built an air box. Semi cold air? I can't seal it completely because of the way the fender is part of the core support. Will have a hole punched in the front end to allow air to be forced into the box.



Fender flares are a no go, so here is a peak at the wide body type fenders. I flared them a little bit. It's 2" at the top, 4" at the fender lip, and 3" at the bottom, and 2" across the front of the fender. Also filled the headlight buckets as part of the fender filler.

I will try to get a picture of them back on once the fab is done. Not trying to risk scratching them up yet. The fenders are set up to clear at full lock/full bump.

I thought they had a little AMG look going for them, which totally fits the car.

PS is all welded and metal finished, almost complete. DS is about half way done.

Oh and that is full compression of the suspension. Which is about 3.5" off the ground at the rockers.

I like how the fenders turned out how they are part of the headlight filler too. Looks dope man and will look really good all finished up!!! I also like how the tires are all tucked now an not sticking out, wheels look sick on it to!! Nice work bro!

Wooaaa dude, chill out man we don't need to be bop n so much man!!! You got the skills dude just not the chill mode to spend the time. lol I think ya would tweak before ya finished it, ha ha. Chop the top on MR2 yo and roll all gangster fo sho! After ya chop the top on your runner we might as well bob your mirrors for more tree clearence so ya don't have to fold them in. ha ha right ther!

Not following you. Really hard to comprehend your sentences.

That is the way it will be staying, its what he wants. If I widened the door skin it wouldn't open. I would have to move the hinges, and it would just be a ton of work. I already have over 40 hours in the two fenders alone. The holes are there because he wanted it open, to relieve the pressure build up in the wheel wells and increase down force. Not sure if it will really be effective since the top speed on most tracks will probably be under 110.

the best thing the holes can be used for is venting the breaks, but i woulda modified the headlight buckets to be an air duct for cooling the breaks.

That will probably happen at some point. I just wanted a clean slate to start with, since I will have to add a single headlight and a blinker at some point. He's decided he wants to register this thing for street use, but he's sold off all the lights and such.

That was basically my mentality about it. If I am going to have a car, it will be fully loaded and fast. And seat 4 people. That was getting old.
